The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries a head kick but it misses.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Seech has eaten all the pies!
Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Seech's shoulder, as Seech tries to avoid the shot.
Alves throws a lazy right hand but Seech sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Alves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Alves politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Alves prefers to stall for the moment though.
Seech is looking for a sweep.
Alves is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Seech tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seech is still trying to improve position.
Seech is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves controlling from side mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seech manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alves's best efforts.

Alves is looking for a kimura but Seech is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alves to get the leverage.

Alves has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Seech defend it? Alves steps over the head and cranks it - Seech is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Alves!
