Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kranckx Diesel (ranked 3276 p4p, 3495 weight class) and Rob Cervantes (ranked 361 p4p, 385 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kranckx Diesel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rob Cervantes! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diesel tries to clinch up but Cervantes circles away and keeps his distance. Kranckx Diesel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Cervantes with that takedown attempt. Diesel lands a head shot. Diesel throws a hook to the side of Cervantes's head but Cervantes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Diesel forces Cervantes back against the cage and clinches. Diesel lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cervantes backwards. Cervantes wants a takedown but no success here.

Kranckx Diesel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Cervantes. Diesel lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cervantes backwards. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diesel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cervantes backwards. Cervantes is trying to push Diesel away but Diesel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cervantes decides to pull guard. Diesel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cervantes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cervantes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diesel is aware though and is defending well. Diesel looking to pass the guard. Diesel wants to stand but Cervantes has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cervantes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diesel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Diesel is looking to advance position but Cervantes has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Diesel is squirming around, avoiding Cervantes's attempts to control the action. Cervantes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Cervantes working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cervantes is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Diesel has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Diesel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cervantes on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cervantes wants to take Diesel's back but he can't do it this time. Cervantes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diesel is looking to escape. Cervantes cracks Diesel with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervantes breaks from Diesel's wrist control and lands an elbow. Cervantes wants to control the pace but Diesel is squirming around nicely. Cervantes looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Diesel tries to get out of the position. Cervantes throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Diesel because Cervantes loaded up on that one. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rob Cervantes will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Diesel misses with a looping left. Cervantes tries to counter by closing the distance. Cervantes dives in for a single leg takedown but Diesel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Diesel tries to clinch there but Cervantes circles away.
Diesel closes the distance and clinches. Diesel stops a takedown attempt from Cervantes.

Cervantes takes a shot to the head. Cervantes tries to score a body lock takedown but Diesel shows good agility there to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diesel lands a body punch. Diesel lands a shot to the body. Diesel scores with a shoulder strike. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diesel digs a right hand into Cervantes's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cervantes's gas tank. Diesel lands a nice shot to the body. Cervantes is breathing heavily. Still in the clinch, Diesel scores with a nice short uppercut. Diesel lands with a light punch inside.
