PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Zonta (ranked 1153 p4p, 1922 weight class) and Vos Zy (ranked 143 p4p, 232 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zonta tries to clinch up
and Zy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Zonta gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Zy fails to land.
Zonta fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Zy misses with a punch on the inside.
Zy lands a right hand.
Zonta misses with a short punch on the inside.
Zy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Zonta can't find room to land a body shot as Zy controls the action.
Zonta tries to score a body lock takedown but Zy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Zy misses with a short punch on the inside.
Zy fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Zy blocks an elbow strike.
Zonta throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Zys head.
Zonta swings wildly with an uppercut but Zy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Zy has a couple of punches blocked by Zonta.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zy is trying to push Zonta away but Zonta has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Zy misses with a hook from the clinch.

Zonta turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zonta manages to end up in side control.
Zonta tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Zonta content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Zonta is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Zy looks calm but he's in trouble here. Zonta gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Zy is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Zonta lets go of the hold and Zy can pop his arm back in it's socket.
