The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Helmsfrid is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Haole Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boy changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Helmsfrid throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boy's waist but Boy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Helmsfrid off to one side.

Boy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Helmsfrid is trying to defend but Boy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Boy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Helmsfrid's guard.

Helmsfrid has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boy to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Helmsfrid is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boy pulls down on the head and he's put Helmsfrid to sleep! This one is all over!
