Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Law (ranked 2027 p4p, 2357 weight class) and Rebel Smith (ranked 249 p4p, 285 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Law might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Country Boy Can Survive. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tyson Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rebel Smith!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Smith throws a body punch but Law moves out of range.
Rebel Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Law keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Smith.
Law fails with a takedown attempt.
Smith throws a counter combo.
Law darts in looking for a takedown but Smith gets double underhooks and turns Law into the cage.
Smith is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Law with a body shot.
Smith stops a takedown attempt from Law.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Law. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith misses with a punch on the inside.
Law blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Law.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Smith.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Smith misses with a punch on the inside.
Law goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Law blocks a body shot from Smith.
Law prevents a body shot from Smith.

Law jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
Law being controlled here, momentarily.
Law seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Law has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Law has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Law pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tyson Law!
Tyson Law decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
