Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mi Shin Ii (ranked 2949 p4p, 5897 weight class) and Gervasio Gervasio (ranked 384 p4p, 633 weight class). Mi Shin Ii has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mi Shin Ii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gervasio Gervasio!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shin Ii shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gervasio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gervasio manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Gervasio is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Shin Ii wants to stall.
Gervasio stalls.

I've been told that Gervasio has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gervasio throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shin Ii tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gervasio is in Shin Ii's guard.
Shin Ii manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gervasio manages to get himself to full guard.

Shin Ii is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gervasio wants to stand and escape but Shin Ii is having none of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gervasio tries to hold on but Shin Ii pushes him away.

Shin Ii has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mi Shin Ii will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Shin Ii takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Shin Ii goes for a double leg but Gervasio avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gervasio continues to drive forward.

Gervasio breaks the clinch.
Gervasio has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gervasio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shin Ii looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gervasio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shin Ii looks to move to half guard but instead Gervasio has passed into mount! Damn!

Gervasio is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Shin Ii has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Gervasio is striking well from the back but Shin Ii escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
Shin Ii tries to roll over but Gervasio keeps him under control.

It looks like Gervasio is going to stand back up.
Gervasio wants to take a breather but Shin Ii is having none of it.
Shin Ii manages to get to full guard.

Shin Ii bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gervasio's guard.

Gervasio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shin Ii is one step ahead there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shin Ii is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Gervasio Gervasio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gervasio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
