Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Monty Konrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Woleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Woleman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monty Konrad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Woleman!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woleman misses with an uppercut.
Woleman takes a swing at Konrad's ribcage but misses.
Konrad has a takedown stuffed.

Woleman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Woleman decides to stand back up.

Woleman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Woleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Konrad keeps working.
Woleman is controlling the pace.
Woleman wants to stand up but Konrad has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Woleman wants to advance to full mount but Konrad doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Konrad looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Woleman puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Woleman wants to take a breather but Konrad is having none of it.
Woleman is nestled in close to Konrad, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Woleman is trying to control the action in half guard but Konrad is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Woleman lands a nice short elbow.

Woleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Konrad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

enabling Woleman to counter with a crisp jab.
Woleman swings for the body but Konrad moves out of range.

Nice straight punches there by Woleman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Woleman.
Woleman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Konrad.

Woleman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Woleman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Konrad is trying to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Woleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Konrad keeps working.

Woleman tries to stand and escape but Konrad is controlling the position.
Konrad tries to kick Woleman off but Woleman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Konrad is trying to control but Woleman passes into side control!
Woleman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Woleman scores with a one two! Konrad had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Woleman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Woleman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Konrad wants to hold on but Woleman pushes him away.
Konrad swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Woleman lands with some strikes.
Konrad is in a horrible position here. Woleman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Woleman lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Konrad hang on?
Woleman wants to control the pace but Konrad is squirming around nicely.

Woleman controlling the pace for now.
Woleman lands a big elbow.
Woleman tries to control but Konrad wriggling away.
Woleman controlling from the full mount.
Konrad is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
BOOM! Woleman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Woleman trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Woleman controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Woleman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Konrad misses with a takedown attempt
and Woleman counters with a body kick.
Nice straight punches there by Woleman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Woleman.


It looks like Monty Konrad has been cut.
Konrad dodges the punch combination from Woleman.
Woleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Konrad on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Woleman clinches.

Woleman is trying to trip Konrad. He has hold of a leg but Konrad is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Woleman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Woleman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Konrad, up you get!
Woleman throws a half hearted mid kick.
Woleman throws a wild body kick that Konrad sees coming a mile off.
Woleman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Woleman counters with a single leg into guard. Konrad didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Woleman tries to free his leg and advance position but Konrad is retaining full guard.
Woleman wants to control from the top but Konrad keeps moving.
Woleman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Woleman trying to control but Konrad is working from the bottom.
Woleman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Konrad looking for a guillotine here but Woleman defends easily.
Konrad might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Konrad is working an open guard so Woleman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Konrad takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

and Woleman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Woleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Konrad has wrist control.

Konrad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Woleman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Woleman gets to his feet. Konrad looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Woleman throws and elbow that misses. Konrad uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Woleman's guard. Nice move by Konrad!

Mark Woleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Konrad slips a straight right by Woleman.
Konrad shoots and misses

and Woleman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Konrad won't be happy with that.

Woleman stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Woleman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Woleman throws a shot to the body.
Woleman with a hook.
Woleman lands a glancing blow to the side of Konrad's head.
Woleman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Konrad moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Woleman counters by clinching up.
Woleman lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Woleman has picked Konrad up - he's going for a ride! Woleman dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Konrad is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Woleman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Woleman's back!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Konrad gets his hands free as Woleman looks to control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Woleman is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Konrad winds up and cracks Woleman with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Woleman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Konrad shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woleman pinned against the cage. Woleman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Woleman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Konrad to the mat! Konrad manages to get full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Konrad thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Woleman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Woleman controls Konrad momentarily but Konrad frees himself.

Woleman pushes Konrad off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Konrad fails with the takedown

and Woleman counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Konrad escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woleman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Woleman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Monty Konrad has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mark Woleman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Woleman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
