PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Odd Hansen (ranked 2150 p4p, 3881 weight class) and Matt Fallon (ranked 291 p4p, 478 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hansen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Post Malone-Rockstar. Matt Fallon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Fallon!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hansen is defended easily by Fallon.
Fallon now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Fallon misses with a double jab.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fallon as he avoids it easily.
Hansen shoots in but no luck this time.
Fallon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Odd Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fallon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hansen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Odd Hansen has been cut.
Fallon feints a jab promting Hansen to slip. Fallon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hansen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hansen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fallon looks to land a combination. Hansen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fallon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hansen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hansen shoots in and drives through. Fallon sprawls well.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Fallon.

Fallon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hansen's head backwards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A head kick from Fallon lands but Hansen takes it in his stride.
Fallon looks to land a combination but Hansen avoids it well.
Fallon changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hansen.
Fallon uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hansen has time to react.

Fallon is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hansen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Hansen shoots in but Fallon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

It looked like Hansen was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Fallon cracks Hansen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Odd Hansen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Fallon throws a sloppy head kick and Hansen moves out of range easily.
Fallon lands with a nice body punch.
Fallon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hansen.
Hansen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice inside leg kick there by Fallon. That's going to slow Hansen down.
Fallon ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Hansen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fallon stuns Hansen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fallon, as that shot connected.
Fallon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hansen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fallon sprawls and moves away.
Fallon scores with a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Fallon.
Hansen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fallon as he jumps to the side.
Fallon tries a head kick but it misses.
Hansen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

so Hansen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fallon lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hansen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fallon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hansen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fallon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fallon advances to half guard.
Hansen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hansen.
Fallon is looking to work some ground and pound but Hansen has wrist control.
Fallon wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.

Hansen has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fallon doesn't defend quickly enough and Hansen has managed to lock this one up! Can Fallon escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hansen on a fantastic submission victory.
