Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Yeves The Soul Rapist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Cannson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Soul Rapist gets caught flat footed, as Cannson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cannson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of The Soul Rapist's head. Cannson connects with a couple of short punches. The Soul Rapist on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if The Soul Rapist tries to get out of the position. Cannson prevents The Soul Rapist from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cannson chips away with some ground and pound. Cannson trying to control the position from guard on top but The Soul Rapist is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cannson postures up in The Soul Rapist's guard and throws a big left but The Soul Rapist blocks it. The Soul Rapist can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cannson controls the pace. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cannson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannson with a nice head shot there. Cannson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cannson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The Soul Rapist is rocked! Cannson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Oh The Soul Rapist is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cannson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cannson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cannson postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! The Soul Rapist covers up, he's hurt! Cannson keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Cannson and the ref steps in to end the fight! Cannson can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Cannson! Steve Cannson tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
