Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Dawson (ranked 4565 p4p, 4331 weight class) and Hobby Boy (ranked 450 p4p, 0 weight class). Hobby Boy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson throws a head kick that misses.
Dawson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Boy slips a jab and a cross from Dawson.
Dawson moves forwards but Boy connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hobby Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boy clinches up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Boy.
Still in the clinch, Boy scores with a nice short uppercut.
Boy pushes Dawson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dawson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Boy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dawson regains guard immediately.

Boy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dawson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dawson has his foot on Boy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boy works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dawson controls Boy momentarily but Boy frees himself.
Dawson is looking to stand up but Boy isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Boy digs a right hand into Dawson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dawson's gas tank.
Boy goes for a takedown attempt but Dawson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Boy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Dawson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Dawson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dawson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dawson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Boy has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
