Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 5614 p4p, 5550 weight class) and Jennson Jameison (ranked 557 p4p, 553 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jennson Jameison!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jameison clinches up against the cage.
Smith is trying to pull guard but Jameison has him pressed against the cage.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Jameison keeps him there for the moment.

Jameison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck for Jameison with that takedown attempt.
We've been told by Smith's head coaches at MONEY TEAM!!! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Jameison circles away.
Smith has his takedown stuffed
and Jameison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jameison fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jameison is trying to trip Smith. He has hold of a leg but Smith is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jameison persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Jameison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jameison wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Smith has his takedown stuffed

and Jameison holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jameison has clasped his hands together around Smith's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Smith sneaks out the side door and pushes Jameison away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jameison forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Jameison tries to score a body lock takedown but Smith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Smith tries to circle away but Jameison has him pinned against the cage.

Jameison tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jameison is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Jameison manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Jameison looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Smith passes into half guard.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jameison with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jameison regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Smith.
Smith wants to control from the top but Jameison keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Smith trying to control but Jameison is working from the bottom.
Jameison doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jennson Jameison will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Jameison lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jameison shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Jameison's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jameison forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Jameison throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Jameison is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jennson Jameison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Smith tries to clinch but Jameison is having none of it.

Jameison tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jameison somewhat.

Jameison jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Jameison gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jameison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.

and Jameison counters with a slapping leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Smith wants to take the fight to the mat but Jameison manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jameison throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jameison off to one side.

Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Jameison ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jameison no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Jennson Jameison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jameison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
