Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Asaki Hanaki (ranked 4267 p4p, 4813 weight class) and Jach Bresnar (ranked 468 p4p, 503 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hanaki might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The HU - Wolf Totem. Jach Bresnar acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Asaki Hanaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jach Bresnar! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanaki moves in looking to clinch but Bresnar pushes him off. Asaki Hanaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bresnar shoots in but Hanaki avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hanaki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bresnar tries to avoid it but Hanaki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bresnar to the ground. Bresnar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bresnar has managed to clinch.

Bresnar takes one on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bresnar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bresnar wants it to stay on the feet. Bresnar has closed the distance and engaged Hanaki in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bresnar clinches. Bresnar will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hanaki up against the cage. Bresnar misses with a hook from the clinch. Bresnar breaks the clinch.
Bresnar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hanaki counters with a series of strikes. Bresnar will be more careful next time no doubt. Hanaki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bresnar moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bresnar has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Bresnar rushes Hanaki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Bresnar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hanaki. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asaki Hanaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bresnar gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hanaki wants to control but Bresnar is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hanaki regains full guard. Nicely done. Hanaki can't keep his opponent in guard - Bresnar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hanaki is looking for a sweep. Bresnar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bresnar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bresnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hanaki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bresnar prevents Hanaki from improving his position. Bresnar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bresnar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Bresnar throwing shots but Hanaki is blocking nicely. Hanaki taking some punishment here, with Bresnar in his half guard. Bresnar thows a huge punch but Hanaki dodges it nicely.

It looks like Bresnar might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hanaki misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jach Bresnar dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Bresnar fails with a takedown attempt. As Bresnar looks to move away, Hanaki throws a big counter combo but Bresnar just gets out of the way. Hanaki cracks Bresnar with an open hand slap. Hanaki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bresnar misses with a straight left. Bresnar moves into the clinch successfully.
Hanaki wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bresnar has him pressed against the cage. Bresnar doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

A frustrated look appears on Hanaki's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bresnar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A combination from Hanaki does no damage. Hanaki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bresnar paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bresnar let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Hanaki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bresnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hanaki is fending him off so far but Bresnar persists. Nope, Hanaki circles away and we're back to standing. Asaki Hanaki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bresnar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hanaki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bresnar working the head with strikes. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! The fight stays on the outside here - Hanaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bresnar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hanaki defends it well. Hanaki works Bresnar's body with a nice hook. Bresnar forces Hanaki back against the cage and clinches. Bresnar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hanaki's efforts to push away. Bresnar stalling the fight.

Hanaki is controlling Bresnar's position as best he can from this difficult position. Bresnar controlling the action here. Bresnar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Bresnar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hanaki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bresnar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bresnar wants to pass the guard but Hanaki is keeping the position. Asaki Hanaki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bresnar controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jach Bresnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Bresnar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
