Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mr Pervitin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Yuslanovich! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yuslanovich fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pervitin on the side of the head. Yuslanovich is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pervitin. Pervitin feinted with a counter takedown. Yuslanovich swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yuslanovich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pervitin as he jumps to the side. Yuslanovich thows a left - swing and a miss! Pervitin feinted with a counter takedown. The fighters circling - Yuslanovich throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yuslanovich throws a sloppy body shot
and Pervitin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've been hearing reports that Pervitin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Yuslanovich swings away with a body shot that misses
and Pervitin counters with a two punch combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yuslanovich closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pervitin did well to prevent Yuslanovich getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yuslanovich thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are battling for position here. Pervitin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Yuslanovich trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Yuslanovich avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pervitin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yuslanovich stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Pervitin has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Yuslanovich manages to get his head free but now Pervitin has transitioned to an armbar! Yuslanovich grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Pervitin! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mr Pervitin! Mr Pervitin decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
