Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Green (ranked 5216 p4p, 6120 weight class) and Chico Maki (ranked 504 p4p, 569 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ed Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chico Maki! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green looking to score a takedown here. Maki is defending well but Green drives through and ends up in Maki's guard. Green pushing down on Maki's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Maki is trying to maintain the position but Green is very close to passing his half guard. Maki felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Green tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Maki is staying active underneath Green, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Green content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maki tries to roll over but Green keeps him under control. Green not doing much here.
Green definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Green seems to be looking for submissions.
Green wants to work for an arm triangle but Maki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Green prevents Maki from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maki won't allow Green to pass to mount. Green is thwarting Maki's attempts to control the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Maki is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maki is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Green wants to take a breather but Maki is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Maki reverses the position - he's now on top in Green's guard. Green lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Green trying to control the position from guard on top but Maki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Green wants to pass the guard but Maki is keeping the position. Maki being controlled here, momentarily. Green is pushing down on Maki's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maki is fighting to maintain full guard but Green has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green wants to pass to mount but Maki is defending the position. Green takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Green prevents Maki from improving his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Maki sees it coming and defends easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ed Green dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Maki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Green slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Maki wants to sweep but no luck. Green is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maki can do to turn this around? Maki is in real trouble.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Green is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Maki with him. Maki is trying to defend but Green has an arm under the chin now! Maki grimaces and is forced to tap out!
