Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dosh Oh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Owens! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oh drives through with a takedown into Owens's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Owens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Oh landing with the ground and pound. Owens trying to control the position.
Oh showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Oh slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Owens is trying to keep Oh in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oh postures up and lands a big shot to Owens's brow. Oh stands up over Owens, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Oh controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Oh definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Owens looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oh is one step ahead there. Owens looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Oh tries to free his leg and advance position but Owens is retaining full guard. Oh has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Oh works over Owens with some ground and pound from guard. Oh with a flurry of punches that miss. Oh content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Owens is rocked! Oh passes into half guard. Owens is still in real trouble! Can Oh finish him? Oh maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Owens could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Oh has cracked it and Owens is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Oh!
