Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Seehaver (ranked 3730 p4p, 4300 weight class) and Willem Kriel (ranked 481 p4p, 528 weight class). Kriel has chosen Jack Parow & Freshlyground - Army Of One as his entrance music. Willem Kriel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle Seehaver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willem Kriel! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kriel lands a front kick. Nice cross by Kriel. Seehaver closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kriel circles away. Seehaver shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kriel as he avoids it easily. Kriel lands a glancing blow to the side of Seehaver's head. Kriel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Seehaver back to the cage. Kriel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. We've been hearing reports that Seehaver has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Seehaver takes one to the side of the head.
Kriel throws a push kick but Seehaver slaps the foot to one side. Seehaver checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Seehaver shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kriel but Kriel pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Seehaver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kriel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Willem Kriel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kriel misses with a left hand so Seehaver counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Seehaver gets to his feet - Kriel follows without any prompting. Seehaver uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kriel. Kriel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kriel lunges at Seehaver with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Seehaver's hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seehaver shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Kriel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kriel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Willem Kriel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Seehaver fails with the takedown. Seehaver closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kriel circles away. Kriel is looking to land body kicks. Seehaver shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kriel but Kriel pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kriel throws a big counter head kick but Seehaver avoids it with no problem. Seehaver blocks a jab. Seehaver tries to counter with a takedown but Kriel is quick to defend against it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seehaver shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kriel pinned against the cage. Kriel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kriel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Seehaver.
Seehaver shoots in but no luck this time. Kriel throws a shot from downtown. Seehaver moves away and avoids it. Good shot there by Kriel. A left lands for Kriel. Seehaver takes a shot right to the bread basket. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Seehaver has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kriel. Seehaver keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kriel has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Seehaver is landing a low percentage of strikes. Seehaver needs to keep his hands up - Kriel had a free shot at his head there. Kriel thows a leg kick but Seehaver checks it and Seehaver counters with a takedown into side control. Seehaver is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Seehaver's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seehaver seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kriel for as long as he can get away with. Further stalling from Seehaver.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Seehaver is trying to get an arm triangle but Kriel is defending well. Seehaver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kriel keeps working. The fighters go back to their corners.
Willem Kriel dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. That kick from Kriel tenderised Seehaver's leg. Seehaver is trying to keep his angry face on. Seehaver shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kriel napping and manages to drive through into side control! Seehaver is looking to take a break and control but Kriel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kriel is letting Seehaver control him for a moment. Kriel is looking to reverse the position. Kriel has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seehaver just content to control the position. Kyle Seehaver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Seehaver stands up and beckons Kriel to his feet. Seehaver bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Seehaver changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seehaver ducks under a wild hook from Kriel. Seehaver attempts a counter takedown but Kriel avoids it well and moves away. Kriel throws a sloppy head kick and Seehaver moves out of range easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Seehaver is defended easily by Kriel. Kriel lands a jab to the nose. Seehaver takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Seehaver uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kriel.
Seehaver takes one to the chin there. Seehaver tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kriel defends well and Seehaver ends up having to push Kriel into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Kriel throws an elbow but misses. A right handed body shot lands from Kriel.
Seehaver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Seehaver takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kriel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Seehaver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seehaver takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Kriel wants to land a leg kick but Seehaver is out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kriel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kriel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Seehaver has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Seehaver changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kriel tries to avoid it but Seehaver manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kriel to the ground. Kriel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A slapping body kick lands there for Kriel. Kriel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kriel connects with a high kick. Kriel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Seehaver. A slow jab from Kriel misses its intended target. Kriel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Seehaver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kriel won't be happy with that. Kriel is trying to escape the position but Seehaver is controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Kriel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seehaver takes a little break here. Kriel wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Kriel is not content to let Seehaver control the position. Kriel can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Seehaver laying and praying for a moment but Kriel takes advantage and regains half guard. Kriel controlling the position for now. Kriel wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Willem Kriel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Kriel stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kriel throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Seehaver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Seehaver showed some decent athleticism there. Seehaver controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kriel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Seehaver is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seehaver slows the pace down in half guard. Kriel regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Seehaver. Seehaver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kriel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Seehaver sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Seehaver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Seehaver shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kriel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kriel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kriel lands a really nice looking cross but Seehaver seems unphased.
Kriel misses the jab. A big right from Kriel misses. Seehaver feinted with a counter takedown. Seehaver takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kriel scores with a decent looking hook. No luck with that takedown attempt from Seehaver.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seehaver fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kriel avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Seehaver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Seehaver moves away from the strike by Kriel. Kriel throws a leg kick and Seehaver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kriel's guard. Kriel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kriel pulls Seehaver in close to prevent any damage. Seehaver trying to control but Kriel is working from the bottom. Seehaver showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Seehaver trying to control the position from guard on top but Kriel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kriel attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Seehaver dives in and grabs Kriel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kriel pushes down on Seehaver's head and hops out. Kyle Seehaver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kriel gets caught flat footed, as Seehaver shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Willem Kriel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kriel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
