PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mannyyy Pacquiaooo (ranked 5718 p4p, 24866 weight class) and Tut Kaman (ranked 544 p4p, 641 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mannyyy Pacquiaooo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tut Kaman!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaman fails to land with a series of punches.
Kaman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pacquiaooo defends well and Kaman ends up having to push Pacquiaooo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pacquiaooo misses with the combination.
Kaman throws out a counter right but Pacquiaooo avoids it with no problem.
Kaman goes for a double leg but Pacquiaooo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pacquiaooo continues to drive forward.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pacquiaooo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA London in the buildup to the fight.
Pacquiaooo leaves Kaman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pacquiaooo attempts a counter takedown but Kaman avoids it well and moves away.
Mannyyy Pacquiaooo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tut Kaman.

Kaman slips a jab from Pacquiaooo.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Pacquiaooo tries to sprawl but Kaman drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Pacquiaooo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaman on the ground.
Kaman not doing much here.
It looks like Kaman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kaman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pacquiaooo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kaman.
Still in half guard, Kaman seems content to control.

Pacquiaooo is refusing to be controlled, as Kaman sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
No joy there for Pacquiaooo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kaman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pacquiaooo sprawls well. Pacquiaooo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kaman gets slowly back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kaman walks into a left hand.

Kaman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pacquiaooo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kaman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pacquiaooo seems a little lost for a moment, as Kaman dominates the positioning.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mannyyy Pacquiaooo will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kaman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pacquiaooo looks to land a combination but Kaman avoids it well.
Pacquiaooo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kaman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kaman lands with a kick to the temple. Pacquiaooo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kaman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pacquiaooo tries to counter with a takedown but Kaman is quick to defend against it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kaman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pacquiaooo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Pacquiaooo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kaman is controlling him well.
Kaman moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

My spies in Battle Science inform me that Kaman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Pacquiaooo tries to escape but Kaman is in control.
Kaman takes a little break here. Pacquiaooo wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Let's hope that Kaman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tut Kaman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kaman is looking to take a break and control but Pacquiaooo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pacquiaooo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kaman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kaman is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pacquiaooo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mannyyy Pacquiaooo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tut Kaman.
Pacquiaooo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pacquiaooo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Kaman makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kaman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pacquiaooo wants to stand up but Kaman is controlling him.
Kaman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kaman swings for the body but Pacquiaooo moves out of range.
Pacquiaooo misses with a two punch combination.
Pacquiaooo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kaman circles away quickly and effectively.

Kaman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kaman showed some decent athleticism there.

Kaman with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Kaman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Kaman.

Kaman wants to pass to mount but Pacquiaooo is defending the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tut Kaman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pacquiaooo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
