The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vigorito ducks right into an uppercut from Vercetti.

Vercetti moves into the clinch.
Vercetti is trying to break the clinch but Vigorito is controlling him.
Vigorito has Vercetti pressed against the cage, preventing Vercetti from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Vigorito breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vercetti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vigorito.
Vigorito dodges the punch combination from Vercetti.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vercetti catches Vigorito with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Vigorito takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Vigorito misses with a takedown attempt - Vercetti sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Vercetti on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vigorito fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tommy Vercetti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasco Vigorito.
Vigorito shoots in looking for a takedown. Vercetti tries to sprawl out of it but Vigorito keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vercetti manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vigorito shoots in for a takedown but Vercetti shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vasco Vigorito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vigorito shoots in but Vercetti avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A lazy left from Vercetti finds it's target.
Vigorito shoots in and drives through. Vercetti sprawls well.

Vigorito avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Vigorito closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vercetti's guard.

Vigorito drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vigorito jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vigorito trying to control but Vercetti is working from the bottom.

Vigorito drops back looking for a leg! Vercetti is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vercetti manages to kick Vigorito off! Vigorito jumps back into Vercetti's guard.
Vigorito working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vigorito passes into half guard.
Vigorito has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vigorito is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vercetti has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Vercetti dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Vigorito feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vigorito accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vigorito has an Americana. Vercetti didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Vigorito is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Vigorito hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
