Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hefty Ladd (ranked 4580 p4p, 4698 weight class) and Kenny Lala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hefty Ladd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Lala!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Ladd is predictable there

and Lala holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lala pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lala gets a clinch.

Ladd pulls guard successfully.
Ladd is controlling Lala's posture.
Lala stops Ladd from standing up.
Ladd looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lala puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Lala stands up out of the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lala is looking to clinch.

Ladd clinches up against the cage.
Lala jumps guard but Ladd turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ladd wants to get back to striking at distance but Lala won't allow it.
Ladd wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lala manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ladd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ladd postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ladd controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ladd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lala dives on top into guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ladd looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lala is one step ahead there.
Lala missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ladd wants to stand but Lala is controlling the position.
Lala trying to control but Ladd is working from the bottom.
Ladd has control of Lala's left arm, preventing Lala from doing any damage.

Ladd keeping moving, preventing Lala from controlling successfully.

Lala is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ladd is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ladd has escaped and now he's on top!

Lala controls Ladd momentarily but Ladd frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ladd seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lala for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ladd lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ladd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lala wants to sweep but no luck.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ladd gets to his feet - Lala follows without any prompting.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hefty Ladd will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lala shoots in but Ladd avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lala shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ladd defends it nicely.

Ladd closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ladd is pushing Lala up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ladd creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lala looking for a takedown.
Hefty Ladd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Lala.
Lala fails to pull guard.

Ladd has clasped his hands together around Lala's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

It looks like Kenny Lala has been cut.
Ladd lands a nice forearm strike.
Ladd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ladd has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lala!
Lala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ladd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ladd with shots to the head and body - Lala looks very uncomfortable down there.
Ladd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lala can do to turn this around?

Ladd with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Ladd takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ladd's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ladd postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lala looks a forlorn figure.

Lala is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ladd lands a heavy elbow.
Ladd controlling the position easily from mount.
Lala tries to hold on but Ladd pushes him away.

Lala really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That has opened up Kenny Lala's cut even more.

Kenny Lala's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kenny Lala's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
