Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Reed (ranked 2765 p4p, 2019 weight class) and Sami Steele (ranked 138 p4p, 108 weight class). Reed comes into the arena with Tupac ft 50 Cent - Get Up Remix blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sami Steele!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steele throws a leg kick
and Reed connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Reed's corner calls for a 1-2. Reed obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Reed drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Reed throws out a loose jab but Steele uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steele stuffs the takedown.
Reed just misses with a punch to the body.
Steele lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

and Steele counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Reed looks to land a right hand but Steele moved out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Steele misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Reed clinches up with Steele and pushes him back against the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Reed tries a body shot but Steele blocks it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Reed throws a lazy uppercut
and Steele counters with a nice uppercut.
Steele avoids the body shot from Reed.
Steele unleashes a big counter combination but Reed bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Steele has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Steele ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
Tommy Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reed shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reed showed some decent athleticism there.

Steele has one foot on Reed's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Reed has been working on his balance at Punch Out Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Steele.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
