Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between 3 Piece Soda (ranked 1371 p4p, 1715 weight class) and James Hackett (ranked 149 p4p, 177 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Soda might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 3 Nights. Hackett comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Foe Tha Love of Money kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hackett throws a shot from downtown. Soda moves away and avoids it.
Soda defending well as Hackett loads up on a big left hand.
Soda swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Soda throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hackett swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hackett cracks Soda with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

We've been informed that Hackett has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Hackett has control of Soda's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Soda regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hackett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Soda haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
