Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Ford (ranked 1221 p4p, 758 weight class) and Daniel Mendoza (ranked 135 p4p, 91 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Landon Ford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Mendoza!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford lands a right hook to the body.
Mendoza has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Ford moves into the clinch successfully.
Mendoza misses with a punch on the inside.
Mendoza fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Mendoza tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ford's elbow.

Ford lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mendoza circles away quickly and effectively.
Ford is looking to wear down Mendoza with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ford, as that shot connected.

Ford jumps guard and drags Mendoza to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Mendoza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ford has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mendoza has managed to get both his arms back between Ford's legs - danger averted.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Mendoza has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ford finds it's way round the side to connect with Mendoza's head.
Ford cracks Mendoza with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Ford throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mendoza looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Mendoza takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mendoza throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Landon Ford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendoza needs to keep his hands up - Ford had a free shot at his head there.
Ford is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Mendoza lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ford has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Mendoza engages and cracks Ford with a massive lead left hook - Ford tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Mendoza is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
