PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bronco (ranked 551 p4p, 859 weight class) and John Titor (ranked 87 p4p, 131 weight class). Bronco kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Horses - Daryl Braithwaite . Titor is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: John Titor-Going To Space. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Bronco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Titor!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bronco misses with a left hand
and Titor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Titor throws a lazy right hand but Bronco sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Titor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bronco throws out the jab.
Titor throws a lazy head kick

and Bronco holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Titor has Bronco pushed against the cage.

Titor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A big right from Titor misses.
Titor throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bronco on the side of the head.
A nice combination there by Titor.
Bronco is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Titor.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bronco has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Bronco has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Titor avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Titor has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bronco clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Bronco is trapped and Titor is scoring with shots to the head and body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
I really don't envy Bronco right now.

Bronco rolls, trying to escape but Titor keeps control of the position.

Titor lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Bronco hold on?!
Bronco manages to reverse the position and now he's in Titor's guard. Nice work there by Bronco.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bronco tries to clinch there but Titor circles away.

Bronco is looking to counter the offense by Titor and move into the clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bronco.
Bronco throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bronco tries to close the distance and clinch but Titor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bronco tries for a takedown but Titor sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bronco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Titor was covering up waiting for the punch and Bronco finishes the takedown easily into guard.
John Titor has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bronco has gone for a leg lock! Titor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bronco's guard.

Titor keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bronco's head.
Titor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Titor shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bronco eats them both and turns towards Titor to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It seemed like Titor was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

John Titor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

After the fight, John Titor was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
