Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nacochata Nakashi! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakashi looks to throw the jab but Jaegerjaquez is out of range. Jaegerjaquez fails to land with a series of punches.
Nakashi on the wrong end of a nice jab. Nakashi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jaegerjaquez can pounce on him.
Nakashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nakashi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Jaegerjaquez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nakashi backs up against the ropes.
Nakashi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jaegerjaquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Decent striking displayed by Jaegerjaquez there. Nakashi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakashi throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Jaegerjaquez to counter with a crisp jab. Jaegerjaquez connects with an inside leg kick. Jaegerjaquez moves into range and connects with a jab. Jaegerjaquez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Nakashi looks winded! Nakashi on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jaegerjaquez feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nakashis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Nakashi is rocked! Jaegerjaquez lands with a shot to the body. Nakashi is still on wobbly legs! Can Jaegerjaquez finish him? Jaegerjaquez connects with a stiff jab that staggers Nakashi - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez! Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez retains his welterweight title! An out of breath Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
