Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 2812 p4p, 6116 weight class) and Masutatsu Oyama (ranked 316 p4p, 589 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Masutatsu Oyama enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masutatsu Oyama! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oyama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oyama trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz wants to control but Oyama postures up. Diaz is trying to get back to half guard. Oyama wants to stand but Diaz has his arm trapped. Diaz is trying to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz is letting Oyama control him for a moment. Diaz is not content to let Oyama control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Diaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Oyama wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Nice strikes from Oyama there. Oyama looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Oyama is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Diaz gets full guard. Diaz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Oyama postures up.
Oyama passes Diaz's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Oyama is keen to just control but Diaz is a slippery customer. Oyama tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Diaz wants to control but Oyama is keeping busy.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Diaz loads up on a big right hand but Oyama slips the punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz closes the distance but Oyama moves to the side and Oyama counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Oyama working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Diaz's thigh. Diaz counters though and makes it back to full guard. Diaz is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Oyama has his hands clasped together but Diaz extends and breaks Oyama's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Diaz.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nate Diaz! Nate Diaz tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
