Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Shelby (ranked 4619 p4p, 25225 weight class) and Max Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Shelby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kerr wants it to stay on the feet.

Shelby has closed the distance and engaged Kerr in a clinch.

Kerr manages to break the clinch.
Kerr throws a head kick that Shelby semi-blocks.

Shelby shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Shelby looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Shelby working over Kerr with some ground and pound. Kerr looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Shelby stands up and beckons Kerr to join him on the feet.

Kerr moves out of range of the body kick from Shelby.
Shelby throws a series of punches but Kerr avoids them all with ease.
Kerr stuffs the takedown attempt from Shelby. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet.
Shelby throws a head kick that misses
and Kerr counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kerr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kerr wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Shelby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shelby misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kerr counters with a series of strikes. Shelby will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kerr leaves Shelby with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shelby is breathing heavily.

and Kerr counters with a good, hard body kick but Shelby shrugs it off.

and Kerr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shelby thinking.

Despite the aggression on Kerr's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Shelby takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shelby throws a jab when Kerr was well out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Kerr misses.
Kerr lands a high kick!
Horrible takedown attempt by Shelby or perhaps it was just good defense by Kerr, which made it look bad.

Kerr has Shelby up against the cage in a clinch.

Shelby shoots in for a takedown but Kerr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kerr throws a series of punches but Shelby avoids them all with ease.
Kerr throws a right hand that Shelby ducks under and follows up with a left that Shelby also avoids with ease.
Kerr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kerr fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shelby shoots in and drives through. Kerr sprawls well.
Kerr lands a lovely overhand right.

Shelby fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kerr clinches up with Shelby and pushes him back against the cage.
Kerr landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Shelby shoots in and gets a takedown into Kerr's guard.

Kerr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Kerr counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Shelby is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Shelby fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kerr is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kerr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shelby circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shelby looks to land a combination. Kerr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Shelby swats away the attempt to clinch by Kerr.

Kerr is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shelby presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Shelby has a closed guard, preventing Kerr from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kerr gets to his feet. Shelby looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Max Kerr seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shelby dodges the punch combination from Kerr.

Kerr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shelby is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kerr to keep the fight standing.
Shelby tries to score a body lock takedown but Kerr shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kerr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shelby is defending well for now.
Shelby has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kerr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kerr throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Shelby blocks it with crossed arms.

Shelby shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kerr sprawls well. Kerr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet.
Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shelby swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Shelby shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kerr works over Shelby's head and body with a nice combination.
Kerr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shelby. Shelby circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Shelby missing with a left hand there. Kerr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Shelby throws a right hand that Kerr ducks under and follows up with a left that Kerr also avoids with ease.

Max Kerr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Kerr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shelby manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shelby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shelby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kerr.

Kerr closes the distance and pushes Shelby back into the cage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

and Shelby takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kerr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shelby's sensitive parts.
Kerr throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shelby wants to clinch but Kerr slips to the side
and Kerr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Shelby looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kerr is fending him off so far but Shelby persists. Nope, Kerr circles away and we're back to standing.

Shelby shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kerr is trying to defend but Shelby finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

I've got Kerr winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
