Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zuillnic Canto! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Canto. Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss! Canto scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Johnson moves out of range of the strikes. Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Canto avoids it really well and circles away. Canto feints the counter takedown. Canto paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Johnson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Canto counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Canto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Canto is trying to get an arm triangle but Johnson is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson prevents Canto from improving position. Canto has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Johnson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Canto yanks on the arm and Johnson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Canto.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Zuillnic Canto! As Zuillnic Canto got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Suprise motherfu*kas, king is back.'.
