Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stoit Silver (ranked 6345 p4p, 6336 weight class) and Better Dead (ranked 615 p4p, 614 weight class). Stoit Silver has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stoit Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Better Dead!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dead checks a leg kick.
Silver lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Dead avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silver misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dead moves into the clinch.
Silver working hard to break the clinch.
Silver tries to pull guard but Dead forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Dead's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dead pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silver throws a nice outside leg kick.

Dead shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dead showed some decent athleticism there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Stoit Silver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dead shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silver sprawls well. Silver wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dead gets slowly back to his feet.
Silver looks to land a combination but Dead avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dead pulls Silver in close to prevent any damage.

Dead is continuing to stall.
Silver wants to get up but he can't break Dead's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dead seems keen to control Silver's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silver avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dead bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silver's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dead slips nicely into half guard.
Dead not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Silver kicks Dead off and gets back to his feet.
Silver swings for the body but Dead moves out of range.
Dead changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Silver throws a front kick that sends Dead stumbling back into the cage.
Silver looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silver throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dead closes the distance and clinches up with Silver, looking for a takedown. Dead pushes Silver against the cage but Silver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've been informed that Dead has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Dead moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Silver misses with a head kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Better Dead will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Silver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dead lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Dead fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silver sprawls well initially but Dead persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dead has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
I would not like to be Silver right now.
Let's hope that Dead has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silver is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dead gets his way!

Dead looking to break Silver's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Silver remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dead will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Silver takes a swing at Dead's ribcage but misses.
Silver jabs Dead to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Dead goes for a double leg but Silver avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Silver continues to drive forward.
Silver throws a quick counter head kick but Dead was just out of range.

Dead is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Silver will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Silver wants to break free but Dead has control.

Dead scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Stoit Silver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Better Dead is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silver enables Dead to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silver manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Better Dead comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dead winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
