Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Justin Purcell (ranked 2713 p4p, 3095 weight class) and Christopher Irwin (ranked 271 p4p, 300 weight class). The key to victory for Justin Purcell has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Irwin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin fails with the takedown.

Purcell feints and then cracks Irwin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Irwin down.

Irwin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Purcell as he jumps to the side.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Irwin working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Irwin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Purcell has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Irwin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

After the fight, Christopher Irwin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
