Rodriguez has chosen haunted as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rodriguez wants to clinch up but Souza keeps it at a distance.
Rodriguez throws a right and a left that Souza avoids nicely.
Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt - Souza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rodriguez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rodriguez throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range.
Rodriguez throws a nice looking combination but Souza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Souza lands a nice shot to the body.
Rodriguez looks gassed!

Souza lands a left and a right that sends Rodriguez crashing to the canvas! Souza dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Choncho Rodriguez has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Souza tries to control but Rodriguez wriggling away.
Souza is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rodriguez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Rodriguez is working to get back to half guard.
Souza stands up from mount. Strange move.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Souza scores with a one two! Rodriguez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Souza throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

A decent looking cross lands there for Souza.
Rodriguez is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodriguez misses with the combination.
Souza works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Rodriguez is still on wobbly legs! Can Souza finish him?
Souza cracks Rodriguez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Rodriguez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Souza pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Rodriguez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anderson Souza!
