Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Archibald Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patty O Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but O Reilly was well out of range. Poor timing from Knox.
O Reilly counters with a body kick.
O Reilly feints and then cracks Knox's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knox down.
Knox misses with an uppercut.
Knox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
O Reilly connects with a solid leg kick.
Knox on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by O Reilly. O Reilly obviously looking to wear him down.
We've been informed that O Reilly has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Knox lands a jab to O Reilly's midsection.

O Reilly closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
I was talking to Knox's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Knox lands a body shot in the clinch.
O Reilly has a couple of punches blocked by Knox.
A nice right hand lands inside from Knox.
O Reilly throws a head punch that misses.
Knox tries a body shot but O Reilly blocks it.
O Reilly takes an elbow to the forehead.

Knox misses with the head strike.

Knox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Knox just misses with a punch to the body.

Knox moves out of range of the strikes.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from O Reilly. Knox shrugs it off though.
O Reilly moves out of range as Knox strikes.
O Reilly doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
O Reilly tries to land a leg kick but Knox saw it coming and moves away.
O Reilly misses with a lunging right hand
and Knox counters with a nice uppercut.
O Reilly lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

O Reilly manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Knox on his heels. He'll look to pass Knox's guard now, I'm sure.

O Reilly works over Knox with some ground and pound from guard.
Knox trying to keep a closed guard but O Reilly is proving a slippery customer.
O Reilly controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knox has his hands on O Reilly's head, controlling the position.
O Reilly is looking to work some ground and pound but Knox has wrist control.

O Reilly throws a big elbow that misses.
O Reilly trying to control but Knox is working from the bottom.
O Reilly is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as O Reilly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Knox has control of O Reilly's left arm, preventing O Reilly from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

O Reilly gets a clinch.
O Reilly scores with an uppercut up the middle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head punch on the inside from O Reilly fails to land.
Knox struggles to land a body shot inside as O Reilly controls his hands.
O Reilly stalling.
Knox misses with some punches.
O Reilly gets through Knox's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Knox lands an elbow that stopped O Reilly in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Patty O Reilly has been cut.
O Reilly tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Knox creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through O Reilly's defenses.
Still in the clinch, Knox scores with a nice short uppercut.
Knox blocks an uppercut.
Knox misses with a hook from the clinch.
Knox throws a punch but it's blocked by O Reilly.
Knox scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
O Reilly has a couple of punches blocked by Knox.

O Reilly gets control of Knox's arms and successfully pulls guard. O Reilly will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
O Reilly tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Patty O Reilly will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Patty O Reilly's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

O Reilly chopping away at his opponent's legs.
O Reilly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Knox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from O Reilly.
Knox cracks O Reilly with an open hand slap.
Patty O Reilly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knox connects with a body shot that sends O Reilly's belly button to the back.
Archibald Knox is winning the standup battle so far.
O Reilly fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
O Reilly swats away the attempt to clinch by Knox.
A clash of legs there as Knox blocks the low kick.
O Reilly throws a nice looking combination but Knox bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Knox throws out a loose jab but O Reilly uses good head movement to avoid it.

O Reilly thuds a left hand into Knox's body.
O Reilly misses with an uppercut
and Knox counters with a stiff right hand.
O Reilly misses with a straight right.
Knox checks a leg kick.
Knox lands a body shot.
O Reilly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knox.

Knox takes the fight into the clinch.
Knox tried to land a shot to the body but connects with O Reilly's elbow.
A right hook to the body lands for Knox.
O Reilly misses with the head strike.

O Reilly pulls guard.

Knox is posturing up here but O Reilly has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Knox tries to roll out but it's too tight and Knox has to tap! Slick submission there by O Reilly!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Patty O Reilly!
Patty O Reilly decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
