Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taki Baki (ranked 24872 p4p, 4257 weight class) and Gojira Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Axe. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Taki Baki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gojira Axe! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Baki with that takedown attempt. Axe looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! No luck for Baki with that takedown attempt. Baki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taki Baki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baki has a takedown stuffed. Axe throws a sloppy head kick and Baki moves out of range easily. Baki shoots for a double leg takedown but Axe sprawls well. He's pushed Baki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A head kick misses from Axe. Baki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Axe lands with a nice combination. Baki backs away looking to recover. Baki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Axe as he avoids it easily. Baki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Axe defends well and Baki ends up having to push Axe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Axe lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baki drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are working up against the cage. Baki manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Baki looking for a takedown. Baki jumps guard.
Baki manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baki fails with the takedown and Axe counters with a one-two to the body. Axe slaps away a takedown attempt from Baki, before circling back to the center of the mat. Baki closes the distance and clinches up with Axe, looking for a takedown. Baki pushes Axe against the cage but Axe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Baki blocks a head kick by Axe.
Axe throws a right and a left that Baki avoids nicely. Axe slaps away a takedown attempt from Baki, before circling back to the center of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Axe dips to his left and cracks Baki with an uppercut! Baki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Axe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Baki lands a high kick!
Baki dives in for a single leg takedown but Axe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Baki drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Baki looking for a takedown. Baki breaks from the clinch.
Baki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Axe tries to avoid it but Baki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Axe to the ground. Axe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Axe throws a sloppy head kick and Baki moves out of range easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Baki fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Axe throws out a counter right but Baki avoids it with no problem. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Baki. Baki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Axe connects with a jab. Baki moves into range and clinches up with Axe. Baki tries to score a body lock takedown but Axe shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baki tries for a takedown. No joy.

Baki is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Axe pulls him back up using the underhooks. Baki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A frustrated look appears on Axe's face as he tries to break the clinch. Axe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Baki.
A head punch on the inside from Axe fails to land. Baki drags the fight down to the ground.
Axe stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Baki throws up his legs and catches Axe in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Axe tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Baki! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Taki Baki! Gojira Axe spoke after the fight, saying 'The Axe has only been bruised, but I shall sharpen it and come back more powerful then ever. '.
