Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominique Caramel (ranked 5062 p4p, 5137 weight class) and Jake Damien (ranked 575 p4p, 582 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Damien shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Caramel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Caramel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Damien is one step ahead there.
Damien wants to control from the top but Caramel keeps moving.
Damien stays in close to Caramel's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Damien drops back, looking for a kneebar! Caramel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Caramel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Caramel!

Damien manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Damien is looking for a sweep. Caramel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Caramel connects with a nice short shot to Damien's temple.

Caramel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Damien is trying to get back to full guard.
Damien makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Damien.

Damien is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Damien lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Damien tries to free his leg and advance position but Caramel is retaining full guard.
Damien won't allow Caramel to sweep him here.
Damien stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Caramel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Caramel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Damien advances position into side control!

Damien is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Caramel is trying to escape and Damien transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Caramel is forced to tap! Nice work there by Damien! Very nice indeed!
