Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helen Salvacion (ranked 24978 p4p, 24545 weight class) and Virgin Mary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgin Mary! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Nice takedown defense from Salvacion. No joy for Mary on that attempt. Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Mary moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Salvacion slaps away a takedown attempt from Mary, before circling back to the center of the mat. Salvacion throws a counter high kick but Mary was just alert enough to avoid it. Mary closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mary sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvacion is trying to maintain the position but Mary is very close to passing his half guard. Mary tries to stand and escape but Salvacion is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mary with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mary wants to pass the guard but Salvacion is defending well.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mary defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Salvacion. And Mary responds with a good body kick, but Salvacion manages to step out the way in time. Salvacion shoots in and drives through. Mary sprawls well. Mary drives through with a takedown into Salvacion's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Salvacion has his hands clasped together around Mary's back. He's all about the action. Mary looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salvacion has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mary is working away from the top position though. Mary tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Salvacion. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Salvacion tries for a takedown but Mary circles away easily and Mary counters with a three punch combo that has Salvacion backing up. Salvacion nods at Mary to acknowledge the strikes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Virgin Mary dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Salvacion has a takedown stuffed. And Mary responds with a good body kick, but Salvacion manages to step out the way in time. Mary drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mary controlling from side mount. Mary stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Mary. No joy for Salvacion on that attempt. Mary is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Mary shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Salvacion manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mary gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Mary shoots in and bounces Salvacion off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salvacion controls Mary momentarily but Mary frees himself. Mary wants to stand but Salvacion is controlling his posture from full guard. Salvacion pulls Mary in to control the position.

Virgin Mary showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Salvacion misses with a takedown attempt - Mary sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mary is looking for the big counter here. Salvacion has a takedown stuffed. Mary replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Salvacion blocks it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mary shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Salvacion is looking to counter with a body kick. Horrible takedown attempt by Salvacion or perhaps it was just good defense by Mary, which made it look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Helen Salvacion. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Salvacion controls Mary momentarily but Mary frees himself. Mary wants to stand but Salvacion has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mary is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mary has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Salvacion pulls Mary in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mary scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion struggling a bit here. Virgin Mary is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mary happy to just control the position for now. Helen Salvacion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Salvacion's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Virgin Mary comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mary has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
