PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott John (ranked 77 p4p, 139 weight class) and Gniewomir Lach (ranked 14 p4p, 26 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lach's choice of entrance music: Soel. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gniewomir Lach!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John misses with an uppercut
and Lach counters with a straight right hand.
Lach throws a low kick but John moves out of range easily.
John is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
John lands a really nice looking cross but Lach seems unphased.

It looks like Gniewomir Lach has been cut.
Lach misses with a looping right.
Lach defending well as John loads up on a big left hand.
John takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've been informed that Lach has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Lach fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and John has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
John doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
John is breathing heavily.
Lach lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lach lands a nice hook to John's body. John takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

John's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

John throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lach throws a nice inside leg kick.
Lach thumps John with a low kick.
John takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

John walks into a stiff left hand from Lach.
John is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Lach throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lach.
John throws a predictable looking body shot

and Lach counters with a crisp right hand that drops John! Lach lets John back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

John is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lach lands with a right and another and another! John is in big trouble! Lach lands again and this time it's lights out for John! A quality knockout there for Lach.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Gniewomir Lach!
In his post fight interview, Gniewomir Lach started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
