The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pointer on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hernandez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pointer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hernandez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas in the buildup to the fight.
Hernandez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hernandez throws a series of punches but Pointer avoids them all with ease.

Hernandez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pointer tries to avoid it but Hernandez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pointer to the ground. Pointer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pointer pounces like a tiger and cracks Hernandez with a vicious hook! Hernandez is down but not out! Pointer follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
