Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paco Nykanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saku Vippera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saku Vippera is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paco Nykanen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Saku Vippera!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vippera looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Nykanen looking for a sweep. Not yet Nykanen, not yet.
Vippera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nykanen keeping moving, preventing Vippera from controlling successfully.
Vippera chips away with some ground and pound.
Nykanen punching to the body, from the bottom.
Nykanen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nykanen tries for a takedown but Vippera circles away easily
and Vippera counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nykanen won't be happy with that.
Nykanen is looking to regain half guard here but Vippera keeps moving and retains side control.
Nykanen is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Vippera is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Nykanen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nykanen gets back to full guard.
Nykanen looking for a sweep. Not yet Nykanen, not yet.
Vippera slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Nykanen is trying to keep Vippera in close.
Nykanen wants to sweep here but Vippera controlling him for the moment.
Vippera trying to control the position from guard on top but Nykanen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nykanen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nice strikes from Nykanen there.
Nykanen thows a huge punch but Vippera dodges it nicely.
Vippera has hold of Nykanen's hands but Nykanen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Vippera tries to get to full guard but Nykanen has control of the leg.
Nykanen moves nicely into side control.
Nykanen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vippera some visible discomfort.
Nykanen cracks Vippera with a big right hand but Vippera just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nykanen lands some shots froms side control.

Nykanen looks up at the clock and then as Vippera takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nykanen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Nykanen is putting a hurting on Vippera here, landing some big shots from side control.
Vippera wants to control but Nykanen postures up.
Vippera looks gassed!
Nykanen has knee on belly and moves into mount.

The referee warns Vippera that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nykanen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Nykanen avoids the attempt from Vippera to control.
Nykanen fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Vippera is rocked!

Nykanen connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Vippera is still in real trouble! Can Nykanen finish him?
Nykanen landing strikes, looking to finish!
Nykanen looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Vippera covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
