Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Brockington (ranked 3897 p4p, 23811 weight class) and Jure Jez (ranked 499 p4p, 762 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Brockington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jure Jez! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jez rushes Brockington and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brockington blocks a head kick by Jez.

It looks like Kevin Brockington has been cut. Jez forces Brockington back against the cage and clinches. Brockington is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Brockington tries for a takedown. No joy.

Jure Jez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Brockington. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brockington is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Brockington is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jure Jez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Brockington slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Brockington looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Brockington shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jez pinned against the cage. Jez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jez loads up on a big right hand but Brockington slips the punch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. No luck for Brockington with that takedown attempt. Jez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jez showed some decent athleticism there. Brockington has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jez is on him like a limpet, forcing Brockington back against the cage.
