Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Marcurius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcurius looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Marcurius wants to pass to mount but Wilson is defending the position. Marcurius trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom. Wilson is defending against the submission attempts here by Marcurius.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson desperately trying to maintain half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Marcurius prevents Wilson from standing back up.
Wilson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Marcurius trying to control from half guard but Wilson is working away.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No joy there for Marcurius, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Marcurius counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wilson is controlling Marcurius's posture. Marcurius stands up over Wilson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wilson is looking to stand up but Marcurius isn't so interested in that idea. Marcurius controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Marcurius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wilson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson wants to sweep but no luck. Wilson looks gassed! Wilson controls Marcurius momentarily but Marcurius frees himself. Marcurius throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Marcurius shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but Marcurius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wilson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Marcurius counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Marcurius wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working. Wilson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson is trying to stand.
Marcurius is trying to control. Wilson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Marcurius trying to control the pace. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wilson trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcurius wants to work for an arm triangle but Wilson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marcurius connects with a nice short shot to Wilson's temple. Marcurius prevents Wilson from standing back up.
Marcurius seems to be working for a kimura but Wilson defends the submission attempt. Marcurius is pressing down on Wilson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wilson is holding on for now. Wilson is staying active underneath Marcurius, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Marcurius is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wilson has hold of Marcurius's hands but Marcurius slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Marcurius is nestled in close to Wilson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Marcurius is looking for a kimura here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wilson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Marcurius lands a couple of decent looking shots. Marcurius lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wilson wants to stand up but Marcurius is controlling him. Marcurius has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Marcurius scoring with some ground and pound. Wilson keeping full guard, as Marcurius tries to pass. Wilson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Marcurius counters with a one-two to the body. Wilson misses with a combination
and Marcurius counters by moving into the clinch. Marcurius has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wilson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Marcurius is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wilson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Marcurius really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A head punch blocked on the inside by Marcurius. Marcurius is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Marcurius. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marcurius breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wilson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wilson throws a leg kick but Marcurius moved away. Wilson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wilson wants to stand and escape but Marcurius is having none of it. Marcurius cracks Wilson with a solid left hand. Marcurius trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Marcurius trying to stand up but can't free himself from Wilson's guard. Marcurius prevents Wilson from getting back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marcurius off to one side. Jesse Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wilson throws a nice looking combination but Marcurius bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wilson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Wilson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marcurius closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Marcurius goes for a takedown attempt but Wilson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wilson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marcurius. Marcurius shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marcurius. Wilson throws a chopping leg kick but Marcurius manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Wilson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wilson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Marcurius holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Marcurius is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wilson can't fight it off and eventually Marcurius manages to take the fight to the floor. Wilson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Marcurius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wilson is looking to stand up but Marcurius isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Marcurius is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Wilson pushes Marcurius off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Marcurius scores a takedown into full mount! Marcurius connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Wilson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marcurius circles away quickly and effectively. Wilson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Marcurius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wilson's guard. Marcurius passes easily into side control. Nice work. Marcurius trying to control the position but Wilson is working away. Marcurius lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wilson down.

Marcurius creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Wilson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Marcurius is controlling him well. After a battle for position, Marcurius asserts his dominance and retains side control. Wilson stops Marcurius from passing to mount. Marcurius misses with a takedown attempt - Wilson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wilson misses with a combination

Wilson won't allow Marcurius to sweep him here. Wilson advances position into side control! Jesse Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wilson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marcurius to his feet. Horrible takedown by Marcurius or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilson which made him look bad. Alexander Marcurius is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Marcurius. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good standup being displayed there by Wilson as he connects with a hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexander Marcurius showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marcurius, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
