Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Gutierrez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rou Joukani!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joukani with a nice cross.
Joukani throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gutierrez throws a series of punches but Joukani avoids them all with ease.
Joukani swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gutierrez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gutierrez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gutierrez blocks a head kick by Joukani.
Gutierrez is looking for a counter combo.
Joukani fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gutierrez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gutierrez tries to clinch but Joukani moves away
and Joukani counters with a body kick that stops Gutierrez in his tracks momentarily.
Joukani defending well as Gutierrez loads up on a big left hand.
Joukani lands a big head kick that sends Gutierrez tumbling to the mat! Joukani takes a step backwards and waves Gutierrez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gutierrez is rocked!
It looks like Alex Gutierrez has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gutierrez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Oh Gutierrez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joukani tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joukani measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Gutierrez! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Rou Joukani!
After the fight, Rou Joukani was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
