PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Damato (ranked 4097 p4p, 3653 weight class) and Sho Pereyra (ranked 364 p4p, 334 weight class). Damato comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rocco Damato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sho Pereyra!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damato fails with the takedown.
Pereyra with the counter takedown but Damato avoids it easily.
Pereyra throws a series of punches but Damato avoids them all with ease.

Sho Pereyra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Damato flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Pereyra passes the guard and advances to mount!
Damato's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Pereyra is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Pereyra looking to control but Damato is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Damato is trying to escape the mount.
Sho Pereyra is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Damato tries to hold on but Pereyra postures up.
Pereyra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rocco Damato has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Let's hope that Pereyra has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Pereyra has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
