PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aizen Kuzo (ranked 5793 p4p, 4883 weight class) and Fabian Raczynski (ranked 558 p4p, 501 weight class). Kuzo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tsugaru. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aizen Kuzo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fabian Raczynski!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuzo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Raczynski is fending him off so far but Kuzo persists. Nope, Raczynski circles away and we're back to standing.
Raczynski throws out a counter right but Kuzo avoids it with no problem.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Raczynski enables Kuzo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Raczynski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kuzo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kuzo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Kuzo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Raczynski working a defensive guard here.
Kuzo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kuzo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Raczynski sprawls well. Raczynski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kuzo gets slowly back to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Raczynski! But no joy.
Kuzo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raczynski avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aizen Kuzo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kuzo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Raczynski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kuzo feints and as Raczynski raises his hands in defense, Kuzo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kuzo stands and throws Raczynski's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Raczynski tries to buck Kuzo off but Kuzo is having none of it.
Raczynski seems a little lost for a moment, as Kuzo dominates the positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Raczynski can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kuzo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Raczynski for as long as he can get away with.
Kuzo continues to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kuzo continues to hold on tight.
Kuzo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Kuzo is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Fabian Raczynski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kuzo drives through with a takedown into Raczynski's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Kuzo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aizen Kuzo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kuzo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Raczynski can do to turn this around?

Horrible takedown attempt by Kuzo or perhaps it was just good defense by Raczynski, which made it look bad.
The crowd cheers as Raczynski lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kuzo doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Aizen Kuzo has been cut.

Kuzo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Raczynski to score with a decent uppercut.

Kuzo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Raczynski sprawls well initially but Kuzo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Raczynski is trying to control but can't.
Kuzo is controlling the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nice straight punches there by Raczynski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Raczynski.
Kuzo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raczynski tries to avoid it but Kuzo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raczynski to the ground. Raczynski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Raczynski! But no joy.

Kuzo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kuzo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Raczynski defends it nicely.
Raczynski cracks Kuzo with an open hand slap.

Raczynski moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Kuzo is rocked!

Aizen Kuzo's cut is getting worse.
Kuzo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Raczynski defends it nicely.
Oh Kuzo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Raczynski lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kuzo. Kuzo tries to recover but Raczynski is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kuzo lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fabian Raczynski!
Fabian Raczynski was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
