Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob White (ranked 1211 p4p, 1193 weight class) and Ivan Kamenev (ranked 152 p4p, 149 weight class). Jacob White has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob White!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Kamenev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by White misses

and Kamenev counters by clinching up.
Kamenev lands with a right to the head.
White tries to work over Kamenev's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
White prevents a body shot from Kamenev.
Kamenev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but White pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kamenev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kamenev has White pressed against the cage, preventing White from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
White tries to break the clinch but Kamenev is controlling the position.
Kamenev has White pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. White manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kamenev can't get the takedown.
Jacob White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Kamenev.
Kamenev blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

White pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kamenev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches White napping and manages to drive through into side control!
White tries to bench press Kamenev off him but Kamenev keeps the position.

White is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at five angels, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

White is squirming around, avoiding Kamenev's attempts to control the action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kamenev goes for an armbar but he's not got it… White turns into him and now he's in Kamenev's guard.
Kamenev wants to sweep but no luck.

Kamenev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. White manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

White is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kamenev wants to sweep here but White controlling him for the moment.
Kamenev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kamenev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed White's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and White counters with a thumping low kick.
White scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Kamenev throws an overhand right that lands on White's shoulder, as White tries to avoid the shot.

Kamenev darts in and clinches White up against the cage.
Kamenev jumps guard but White stands there with Kamenev around his waist. Kamenev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kamenev fails to pull the fight into his guard.

White escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kamenev goes for a double leg but White avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as White continues to drive forward.
White lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

A nice leg kick from White, right into the meat of the thigh.
White throws a leg kick which misses Kamenev's front leg but catches the back leg as Kamenev tries to avoid it.

Kamenev drives through and clinches with White against the cage.
Kamenev tries to stall but White uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kamenev stalls.
White lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kamenev tries a body shot but White blocks it.
White throws an elbow but it misses.
Kamenev avoids the elbow strike from White, against the cage.
Kamenev tries to score a body lock takedown but White shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kamenev jumps guard but White stands there with Kamenev around his waist. Kamenev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
White throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Kamenev cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A chopping leg kick lands by White.
Kamenev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
White misses with a low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from White.
Kamenev blocks a head kick by White.
White takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kamenev tries to close the distance and clinch up but White swats him away and circles back towards the center.
White throwing a counter right hand but Kamenev manages to avoid it.

White throws a leg kick which misses Kamenev's front leg but catches the back leg as Kamenev tries to avoid it.
Jacob White is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good work by Kamenev as he checks the leg kick.
Kamenev tries to counter with a clinch but White shakes him off and moves away.
Kamenev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by White.
Kamenev is clearly trying to counter these attacks from White with a body shot.
White loads up on a big right hand but Kamenev slips the punch.
White throws a leg kick but Kamenev checks it.
Kamenev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kamenev ducks down and throws a hook to the body but White moves away.
White throws a sloppy head kick

and Kamenev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kamenev has gone for a leg lock! White slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kamenev's guard.

White stopping the sweep attempt from Kamenev.
White looking to sit in guard and control but Kamenev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kamenev wants to pass the guard but White is keeping the position.
Kamenev is looking to advance position but White has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

This has been an exciting period of action!
White avoids the attempt from Kamenev to control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kamenev fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with White, pushing him back against the cage.

White throws an elbow that misses. Kamenev uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in White's guard. Nice move by Kamenev!


Kamenev drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and White dives on top into guard.


Kamenev throws his legs up looking for a submission but White uses it to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kamenev manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Kamenev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kamenev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kamenev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so White is just riding it out for now. Kamenev eventually gives up the hold.
White is staying active underneath Kamenev, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kamenev throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing White to regain full guard.
Kamenev is pushing down on White's leg trying to pass to half guard. White is fighting to maintain full guard but Kamenev has managed to sneak the leg through.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kamenev throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kamenev tries to lock up and control but White gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kamenev can't escape the position.
White avoids the attempt from Kamenev to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
White controlling from mount.
Kamenev is desperately trying to improve his position but White has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but Jacob White did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

White misses with a leg kick

and Kamenev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kamenev lands a glancing blow to the side of White's head.
White lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
White fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kamenev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kamenev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. White manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

White gets tackled into the cage by Kamenev. Kamenev maintains the clinch.
White tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kamenev's elbow.

Ivan Kamenev seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kamenev lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kamenev misses with a takedown attempt - White sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice shot lands for White.
White staying out of range there.
White fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kamenev.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

White stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Kamenev is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but White is keeping busy.

Kamenev blocks a low kick nicely.
White feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kamenevs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looked like White wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kamenev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

White is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kamenev's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Kamenev! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and White has tapped! This one is allllll over!
