Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bea Mason (ranked 3588 p4p, 6757 weight class) and Cajetan Shashi (ranked 471 p4p, 664 weight class). Bea Mason has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bea Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shashi tries to clinch up. Mason with a poor takedown and Shashi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Shashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from Shashi does no damage. Mason is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shashi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Shashi. No joy for Mason on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mason shoots and misses and Shashi counters with a left and a right that stings Mason. Shashi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mason defends well and Shashi ends up having to push Mason into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mason shoots in and drives through. Shashi sprawls well. Mason moves into the clinch. Mason breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mason drives through with a takedown into Shashi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mason trying to stand up but can't free himself from Shashi's guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Shashi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Shashi is looking for a triangle but Mason pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shashi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mason has managed to get both his arms back between Shashi's legs - danger averted. Mason drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shashi dives on top into guard. Mason keeping moving, preventing Shashi from controlling successfully. Mason tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shashi wants to pass the guard but Mason is keeping the position. Mason wants to get back to his feet but Shashi is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shashi with a flurry of punches that miss. Mason is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shashi defends well. Shashi postures up in Mason's guard and throws a big left but Mason blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shashi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mason keeping moving, preventing Shashi from controlling successfully. Mason is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Shashi chips away with some ground and pound. Shashi prevents Mason from getting back to his feet. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Shashi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mason avoids it really well and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shashi misses with a wild body shot. Mason fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Shashi lands a head kick!
Shashi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mason is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mason parries the strikes from Shashi easily there. Shashi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mason to escape.
Shashi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mason, who protects the arm well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cajetan Shashi dominated that round. That's time! Mason's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Shashi slaps away a takedown attempt from Mason, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shashi paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shashi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mason quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Shashi doesn't manage to clinch there - Mason circles away.
Bea Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Shashi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shashi connects with a looping right hand.
Mason shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shashi defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason dives in for a single leg takedown but Shashi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shashi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mason. Cajetan Shashi seems to be getting the better of the standup. Shashi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mason manages to avoid it. Mason was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Shashi. Beautiful body shot. Mason tries to close the distance and clinch but Shashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mason is looking for a counter combo. Shashi swats away the attempt to clinch by Mason. Shashi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Shashi works a leg free and moves into half guard. Mason holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Shashi is looking to take a break and control but Mason is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mason is trying to stand back up but Shashi is controlling him
Mason is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shashi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shashi's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shashi fending off the submission attempt from Mason. Shashi turns into Mason and is now in his guard.
Cajetan Shashi has got the better of the ground game so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mason lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Shashi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mason wants to improve his position but Shashi is controlling well.
Shashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mason is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason is pressing down on Shashi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Shashi wants to control from the top but Mason keeps moving. Mason looking for a sweep. Not yet Mason, not yet. Shashi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shashi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mason is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mason has escaped and now he's on top! Mason slips nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shashi is looking to escape. Shashi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mason is looking to advance position but Shashi won't allow it. Mason thows a huge punch but Shashi dodges it nicely.
Mason controlling the action here. Shashi wants to sweep but Mason has passed to side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shashi dodges the ground and pound from Mason. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cajetan Shashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Mason rushes Shashi and presses him up against the cage. Shashi tries to work over Mason's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mason swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shashi breaks the clinch.
Shashi lands a jab to Mason's midsection. Mason dodges the punch combination from Shashi.
Shashi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mason was covering up waiting for the punch and Shashi finishes the takedown easily into guard. Shashi has gone for a leg lock! Mason slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shashi's guard. Mason throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shashi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mason fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Shashi with a lazy takedown attempt and Mason counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mason looks for a takedown but Shashi sprawls well. Shashi appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shashi shoots in looking for a takedown but Mason manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shashi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mason stuffs the takedown. Shashi clinches up against the cage. Shashi missing with knees to the body.

Mason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mason looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cajetan Shashi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shashi looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mason is looking to stand back up but Shashi counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mason.
And that's the end of the fight! Bea Mason showed his dominance in that final round. I think Shashi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
