Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Turner (ranked 3982 p4p, 3791 weight class) and Landon Hurts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hurts has chosen What I Please as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sterling Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Landon Hurts! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Turner defends well and Hurts ends up having to push Turner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Turner went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hurts closes the distance and clinches up with Turner, looking for a takedown. Hurts pushes Turner against the cage but Turner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Turner throws a big counter combination but Hurts scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Hurts tries to keep at a distance but Turner has taken the fight into the clinch. Hurts tries to score a body lock takedown but Turner shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Sterling Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Landon Hurts. Turner tightens his grip and picks Hurts up, before dumping him to the ground. Hurts manages to land in guard. Hurts has control of Turner's left arm, preventing Turner from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turner throwing strikes from guard but Hurts blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Turner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurts trying to keep a closed guard but Turner is proving a slippery customer.
Turner loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hurts avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Turner is looking to work some ground and pound but Hurts has wrist control. Hurts is trying to keep Turner in close.
Turner distracts Hurts with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hurts is trying to control the position but Turner postures up. Hurts avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hurts seems keen to control Turner's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hurts trying to control the position.
Turner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hurts is looking to stand back up but Turner counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hurts. Turner is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Turner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Turner throwing shots but Hurts is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turner not landing any meaningful shots this time. Turner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hurts doesn't manage to clinch there - Turner circles away.
It looked like Turner was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hurts. Turner looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hurts shoots in for a takedown but Turner shows good takedown defense. Hurts fails with an attempt to clinch.
Turner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hurts. Turner is looking for a counter combo. Turner lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turner stuffs the takedown attempt from Hurts. Hurts gets slowly back to his feet. Turner misses with a wild combination.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hurts gets caught napping as Turner dives in and scores a takedown. Hurts manages to retain guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sterling Turner dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Turner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hurts changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hurts closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hurts lands in his opponent's guard. Sterling Turner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Turner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hurts manages to pass to side control. Hurts stops Turner from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hurts working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Turner's thigh. Turner counters though and makes it back to full guard. Turner is trying to control the position but Hurts postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner kicks Hurts off and gets to his feet. Hurts fails with a takedown attempt. Turner stuffs the takedown attempt from Hurts. Hurts gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Hurts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Turner half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Sterling Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Landon Hurts. Hurts moves in looking to clinch but Turner pushes him off. Landon Hurts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hurts tries to clinch but Turner is having none of it. It looked like Turner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Turner throws a right and a left that both miss. Hurts's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hurts's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Turner leaves Hurts with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hurts tries to clinch up but Turner circles away and keeps his distance. It looked like Turner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner throws a series of punches but Hurts moves out of range. Turner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hurts's guard. Hurts is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Turner dives into side control.
Hurts is trying to control Turner's posture but Turner avoids it. Turner throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hurts tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurts wants to control but Turner postures up. Hurts tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Turner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Turner has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Turner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nice takedown defense from Turner. No joy for Hurts on that attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Turner drives through and clinches with Hurts against the cage.
Hurts drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sterling Turner dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round! Turner misses with a low kick. Hurts feints the counter takedown. Hurts misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Turner swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Turner moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hurts is trying to break the clinch but Turner has him pressed against the cage. Turner has hold of one of Hurts's legs. Hurts is fighting the takedown attempt but Turner gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hurts can do to turn this around? Turner advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner in side control, throwing shots but Hurts defends. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hurts tries to get back to half guard but can't. Turner working the ground and pound. Turner cracks Hurts with a big elbow. Hurts is looking to reverse the position. Hurts keeps trying to improve his position. Turner grinds an elbow into Hurts's temple. The ground and pound from Turner seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Turner throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hurts is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Turner working away. Hurts tries to buck Turner off but Turner is having none of it. Turner landing strikes. Hurts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hurts takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Turner tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Turner throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner working the ground and pound from side control. Turner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hurts has escaped the position, nice work there. Hurts is looking for a sweep. Turner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hurts is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hurts wants to get back to his feet. Turner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Turner fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Turner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Turner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hurts knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hurts takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

And that's the end of the fight! Sterling Turner showed his dominance in that final round. Well Turner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Sterling Turner! A relieved looking Sterling Turner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Landon Hurts spoke after the fight, saying 'I guess he just a dummy for not tapping, but hey, respect. He took the pain, and got hurt'.
