Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Fliehr (ranked 4679 p4p, 3997 weight class) and Zhang Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Zhang Wei was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zhang Wei!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fliehr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Fliehr trying to control but Wei is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fliehr wants to control from the top but Wei keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wei wants to sweep here but Fliehr controlling him for the moment.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wei had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fliehr defends it easily.
Fliehr would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wei throws an overhand right that lands on Fliehr's shoulder, as Fliehr tries to avoid the shot.
Wei on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wei enables Fliehr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wei manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wei escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fliehr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wei pulls Fliehr in to control the position.
Fliehr wanted to stand there but Wei had control of the position.
Fliehr missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Wei lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wei lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fliehr trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Wei not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wei passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Wei scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Fliehr has hold of Wei's hands but Wei slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wei is thwarting Fliehr's attempts to control the position.
Fliehr is looking to escape.
Wei wants to pass the guard but Fliehr is defending well.
Fliehr is refusing to be controlled, as Wei sits in half guard.

Fliehr kicks Wei off and gets back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fliehr manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wei on his heels. He'll look to pass Wei's guard now, I'm sure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wei is controlling Fliehr's posture.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fliehr shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fliehr showed some decent athleticism there.

Fliehr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wei can do to turn this around?

Fliehr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wei manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Wei is looking for a triangle but Fliehr pushes his legs off easily.

Wei is looking to cinch up a triangle. Fliehr throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Wei's body to avoid the submission. Wei has instead reached around Fliehr's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Wei arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Zhang Wei decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
