Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Reznov (ranked 2252 p4p, 3913 weight class) and Taka Cruise (ranked 318 p4p, 505 weight class). Viktor Reznov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Viktor Reznov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taka Cruise!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruise lands a jab to Reznov's midsection.
Reznov dives in for a single leg takedown but Cruise sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Reznov has Cruise pressed against the cage, preventing Cruise from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Reznov tightens his grip and picks Cruise up, before dumping him to the ground. Cruise manages to land in guard.
Cruise wants to stand but Reznov is controlling the position.
Reznov wants to pass the guard but Cruise is keeping the position.

Reznov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reznov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cruise wants to get back to his feet but Reznov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reznov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reznov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Reznov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reznov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reznov drops back looking for a leg! Cruise is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cruise manages to kick Reznov off! Reznov jumps back into Cruise's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Reznov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reznov lands in his opponent's guard.

Reznov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cruise is now in Reznov's guard. A big mistake from Reznov there, giving up the dominant position!
Reznov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cruise manages to get himself to full guard.

Cruise wants to stand and escape but Reznov is having none of it.

Reznov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cruise is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Reznov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Cruise is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Reznov asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Cruise throws a chopping leg kick but Reznov manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Reznov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cruise as he jumps to the side.
Cruise stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruise wants it to stay on the feet.
Some wild striking there from Cruise.
Reznov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Viktor Reznov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruise throws a nice looking combination but Reznov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Reznov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruise swivels and escapes.

Cruise manages to break the clinch.

Cruise is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reznov.
Reznov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cruise on the side of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Cruise as Reznov shoots in.
Despite the aggression on Cruise's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
A combination from Cruise does no damage.
Cruise throws a right hand that Reznov ducks under and follows up with a left that Reznov also avoids with ease.
Reznov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Cruise avoids the body shot from Reznov.
Reznov shoots in looking for a takedown. Cruise tries to sprawl out of it but Reznov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cruise manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reznov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruise avoids it really well and circles away.

Reznov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reznov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cruise is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Reznov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Reznov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruise keeps working.

Reznov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cruise has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reznov but great work by Cruise.

The fighters are battling for position here. Reznov manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cruise must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reznov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Taka Cruise showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Cruise walks into a stiff left hand from Reznov.
Cruise lands a nice shot that snaps Reznov's head back.
Reznov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cruise at a distance.
Cruise swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Reznov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cruise's guard.

Viktor Reznov really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that same day laundry logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
