Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clay Hayden (ranked 3934 p4p, 4636 weight class) and Drapton Heed (ranked 434 p4p, 508 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Clay Hayden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Drapton Heed!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heed throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hayden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Heed won't be happy with that.
Heed is looking for a sweep.
Heed can't do much from the bottom here.
Hayden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Heed keeps working.

Hayden tries for a kimura but Heed is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayden is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Heed will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heed tries to bench press Hayden off him but Hayden keeps the position.
Hayden sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Heed is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hayden in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Heed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hayden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Heed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hayden scores with a couple of short elbows.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hayden is looking to take a break and control but Heed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Heed dodges the ground and pound from Hayden.

Heed parries the strikes from Hayden easily there. Hayden is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Heed to escape.

Hayden throws a strike aimed at the side of Heed's head but Heed avoids it well.

Hayden fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Heed.
Hayden slips under a jab.
Hayden looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Heed misses with a lunging right hand
and Hayden counters with a nice body shot.
Heed swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Hayden makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Heed really felt that one!

Heed lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hayden at a distance.
Drapton Heed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayden doesn't manage to clinch there - Heed circles away.
Heed throws a right and a left that both miss.
A cross from Heed lands.
Hayden with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Heed misses with a hook
and Hayden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Heed misses the shot to the body.
Hayden appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Heed sizes up Hayden with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Heed throws a lazy right hand but Hayden sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Heed. Those never looked like landing.
Hayden goes for a double leg but Heed avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Heed continues to drive forward.

Heed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Heed swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Heed throws a shot from downtown. Hayden moves away and avoids it.
Hayden blocks a jab.
Heed scores with a decent looking hook.
Heed throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Drapton Heed seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hayden shoots for a double leg takedown but Heed sprawls well. He's pushed Hayden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hayden scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hayden comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Heed misses with a looping left.
Heed swings for the body but Hayden moves out of range.
Hayden was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hayden lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Heed at a distance.
Heed tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayden was well out of range. Poor timing from Heed.
Hayden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Heed.
Heed connects with a jab.
Heed misses with a straight left.
As Heed backs away, Hayden returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Heed rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hayden counters with a slapping leg kick.

Hayden shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Heed manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Clay Hayden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hayden sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Heed's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Clay Hayden will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Hayden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Heed won't be happy with that.
