Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frederico Fernandes (ranked 6286 p4p, 22982 weight class) and Funky Colemadina (ranked 279 p4p, 320 weight class). Fernandes's entrance music is Born to be wild. A fine choice. Colemadina is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: immortal by adema. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Funky Colemadina!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Colemadina misses
and Fernandes counters with a leg kick.
Fernandes throws a head kick that half lands.
Fernandes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Frederico Fernandes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Colemadina counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Fernandes!
Colemadina working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Colemadina takes a little break here. Fernandes wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Colemadina sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Fernandes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Colemadina is working to tighten his grip on Fernandes's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Fernandes has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Colemadina is really squeezing tight and eventually Fernandes passes out! Colemadina breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A determined Funky Colemadina didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
