PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bolo Yueng (ranked 1259 p4p, 1604 weight class) and Yadeep Singh (ranked 190 p4p, 247 weight class). Yueng comes to the cage accompanied by Stranglehold by Ted Nugent . Yadeep Singh will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bolo Yueng !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yadeep Singh!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yueng gets the takedown into side control.
Singh takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Yueng is trying to get an arm triangle but Singh is defending well.

Singh parries the strikes from Yueng easily there. Yueng is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Singh to escape.

Yueng wants to control but Singh is keeping him busy.

Yueng thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Singh told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yueng tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yueng has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Yueng is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Singh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Yueng misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yueng connects with a nice short shot to Singh's temple.

Singh swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yueng attempts a counter takedown but Singh avoids it well and moves away.
Yueng takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bolo Yueng is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Singh throws a right hand that Yueng ducks under and follows up with a left that Yueng also avoids with ease.
Singh walks into a left hand.
Singh's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Singh duly obliges.
Yadeep Singh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yadeep Singh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yueng shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Singh as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bolo Yueng . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yadeep Singh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Singh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yueng . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Singh has hold of Yueng 's hands but Yueng slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

I think Yueng has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Bolo Yueng rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
